Don’t like illegal immigration? The legal variety being pursued by Obama with backing from George Soros and Paul Ryan isn’t so hot either. All over the country the Obama administration is creating muslim ghettos by sneaking in large groups of muslim immigrants under a plan developed by Soros backed organizations. Without exception this is done without letting the people in those communities know ahead of time. Why? Because they would object and slow down, maybe even derail, Obama’s plans.
In April we exposed one of Obama’s insta-ghettos in Fargo, North Dakota. This time it’s in Rutland, a small town in Vermont.
About 100 Syrian refugees are being placed in a small city in Vermont, the home of socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders, and they are not getting an altogether warm welcome.
In fact, when residents of Rutland, Vermont, found out about the secretly negotiated deal to seed their community with migrants from a Middle Eastern hotbed of Sunni radicalism, they were livid.
They packed a local library for an “informational” meeting Thursday night. At least 20 of them stood outside with protest signs, demanding that their mayor explain why he negotiated the entire deal with the federal resettlement contractors behind closed doors and outside the purview of public scrutiny.
Mayor Chris Louras simply “announced” on April 26 that 100 Syrians were being “welcomed” into the city after it was a done deal.
Even the Boston Globe acknowledged the Rutland refugee placement was “developed in near-secrecy” by the mayor and the government contractor.
The U.S. government is desperately looking for new locales to send the Syrians as it ramps up its “surge” of more than 350 Syrian arrivals per week in an effort to meet President Obama’s goal of 10,000 Syrians resettled by Oct. 1.
Mayor Chris Louras said he couldn’t possibly have let me people know about the secret deal ahead of time because too many people would have shown up to the town meeting and they don’t have a facility large enough. In other words, Louras knew that his decision would be unpopular with the people who elected him so he hid it from them and did it anyway.
Syrian Resettlement Plans Intentionally Kept From The Public
MyChamplainValley.com reports it this way:
While the Vermont Refugee Resettlement Program (VRRP) held meetings as far back as January 14, the general public was never informed.
According to public records we obtained from the City of Rutland, a public discussion was considered, but never took place.
In an April 14 email to Mayor Louras, Merdzanovic wrote “if we open it up to anybody and everybody, all sorts of people will come out of the woodwork, anti-immigrant… anti-anything.”
Local 22 & Local 44 reporter Rene Thibault asked: “Can you elaborate on what you meant by that?”
“I think we did the right thing, in this work, you’re going to offend people, whether you include them or not include them, you’re going to offend them, so sometimes you just have to make that hard decision,” responded Merdzanovic.
Amilia Merdzanovic is described in reports as a “resettlement contractor” who works for the federal government. Her job is to go around to communities and make deals like the one she made in Rutland. And based on her actions and her words, it’s clear that the interests and desires of local communities don’t figure into the equation.
The Obama-Soros Plan For Syrian Ghettos
This comes right out of the Soros playbook and is the same way it was done in Fargo, North Dakota. As we reported on the Fargo situation:
Operating through organizations with altruistic sounding names like the Partnership For A New American Economy (“PNAE”) and Welcoming America, Soros and his cronies are trying to import millions of people from the Middle East and settle them in small towns and cities like Fargo.
In order to smooth the path with local officials these organizations hand out cash awards to the communities they have in their sites. Prominent among them is the Gateways For Growth Award. What local mayor would not want to win the Gateways For Growth Award? Sounds great, right? Sounds like the mayor is doing his part to keep the local economy moving forward. And the Gateways For Growth Award comes with a cash prize. What’s not to like?
Paul Ryan Funded Obama’s Plan
Over the objection of the vast majority of Americans, Paul Ryan passed the $1.1 trillion Omnibus Spending Bill back in December that included full funding for Obama to resettle 300,000 muslim immigrants with no oversight. And in case your wondering about Rutland mayor Chris Louras, he’s a Republican too. Ryan has a long history of working for open borders, including support for the Rubio-Schumer Gang of 8 immigration/amnesty bill. He didn’t get it, so now he’s content to simply fund Obama’s open borders agenda through the budget process and look the other way.
And what of the towns and local cultures that have to deal with the social engineering planned, funded, and executed by the likes of Soros, Ryan, and Obama? The people got no say in the matter. The desires and interests of American citizens are ignored in pursuit of the multicultural dreams of the elites. But how well are those dreams working out in Europe? The results there have been disastrous and they’re getting worse.
There’s a reason this is being done in secret. Because ordinary Americans are opposed to it. They’re the ones who have to live with it and pay the price for it. It’s their towns that are being changed – not Washington, D.C. And because our elected representatives want to pursue their fantasies regardless of the consequences. Consequences they don’t have to deal with. Even if one supports this policy – a big “if” – the people pursuing it should be removed from office for withholding information from their constituents. That alone should be an affront to a free people who value free government.
