The Duck Commander is all in. Phil Robertson, the family patriarch, has joined his son Willie in endorsing Donald Trump for President. Phil told the Daily Mail about his decision.
‘Duck Dynasty’ patriarch Phil Robertson will support Donald Trump in the fall despite endorsing his rival Ted Cruz four months ago, he said Monday.
The reality TV star told DailyMail.com that ‘I’ll be enthusiastically behind him.’
‘Wow! Such a great honor to have Phil’s endorsement,’ the Republican front-runner responded Tuesday.
‘His son, Willie, has become a great friend of my son, Don. What a great family.’
Robertson’s son Willie, now the CEO of Phil’s ‘Duck Commander’ company, crossed his father in January to endorse Trump early on in the Republican primary process.
The Trump & Robertson Families Have Become Friends
Willie Robertson has appeared with Trump at a number of campaign events including one at Trump Tower in New York. The 2 have reportedly become good friends. But that’s not such a surprise. Both are plain-talking entrepreneurs running highly successful family businesses. The Trump Organization employs the Trump children just as Duck Commander employs the Robertson children. Though they appear so different on the surface it doesn’t take too much imagination to see why they would get along.
