A cameraman from LaughtingAtLiberals was surrounded, harassed, and pushed by a group of feminists while filming a lecture on “Feminism & Whiteness” at Portland Community College. The face of modern feminism is…well, I shouldn’t say. We’ll turn to the works of Aristotle for some insight.
Aristotle once noted that, “It is possible to infer character from features, if it is granted that the body and the soul are changed together by the natural affections.” If so, what does that tell us about feminism? Asking for a friend…
Portlandia Comes To Life
IFC’s absurdist comedy, Portlandia, is a spot-on send up of uber-progressive Portland. But the actual progressives they parody don’t have much of a sense of humor. At one point in the video, the speaker lectures her permanently disgruntled pupils, “If we are ending white supremacist, capitalist, heteropatriarchy…to undo patriarchy, we need to engage white supremacy.” That’s a mouthful. And it doesn’t really mean much of anything, but this crowd is convinced that if you string together enough words with enough syllables you can change the world.
Change it to what, they have no idea, but that’s not the point. They’re all about stirring the pot, not actually making a meal. Oops. See what I did there? Using a cooking analogy is probably white supremacist, capitalist, misogynist, and heteropatriarchal. Because, only 19th century robber-barons want to eat!
Not sure if the best part of the video is the young lady with the autism sign standing on the chair trying to block the camera or the obligatory sign language translator standing off to the side signing away like nothing is happening. Honorable mention is the unkempt young person who walks by and gives the camera the single finger salute. Side note: Why was she carrying the autism sign? Never leave home without it?
Like Aristotle said, “it is possible to infer character from features…”
