Irony. I like it thick and unnoticed. One of our readers has been suspended from Reddit and permanently banned from the /r/Politics subreddit – the largest political forum on Reddit with over 3 million subscribers. It is also a very Bernie-friendly space. This happened almost immediately after posting a link to our story on the #BernieBlackout protests taking place in Los Angeles. Our headline uses the term “Bernie Bro” and apparently the Bernie Bros don’t like the term. At all. The irony here is that the Bernie folks are protesting the media silencing them and their candidate. Got that? They don’t like being silenced but have no problem silencing others.
The precious snowflakes had to run for their safe spaces – and report the link to the Reddit authorities as abusive. The irony is that our story is sympathetic to Bernie and his supporter who are being ignored by the powers that be on the Left who have closed ranks behind Hillary. But who cares about that, right? Some of the Brocialists (is that a microaggression?) are probably crying their eyes out because they had to see the a scary word that didn’t affirm their personhood.
Our reader was initially given a temporary ban from the subreddit /r/politics but reports that less than 3 minutes later and without doing anything else received a permanent ban. Screenshots are below.
You’ll note that the message says, “If you have a question regarding you ban, you can contact the moderator team…” That seems reasonable, right? Maybe they made an error and will look into it. But here’s the message that appears when attempting to “contact the moderator team.”
So much for that. If they’re not going to let you reply, why instruct you to direct questions to the moderators. Maybe the moderators are afraid of seeing another scary word. This reader’s account has been suspended from all of Reddit for 3 days and banned permanently from the /r/politics subreddit with no chance to appeal. And all for the horrible offense of posting a link to this article that uses the term “Bernie Bros.”
Careful out there Downstreamers – the thought police are watching.
