While the Washington D.C. wing of the Republican Party is attempting to force the party into ritual suicide Hillary Clinton is pushing forward with her radical agenda. It is not a surprise that Hillary is a strong supporter of amnesty for the 11-15 million people in this country illegally. She also believes those same people should have full healthcare coverage under Obamacare immediately – amnesty or no. In other words, come to the United States illegally and get full healthcare coverage courtesy of the American taxpayer. At a campaign stop in Utah on March 17th, Chelsea Clinton made her mother’s position clear:
“My mom has very strong feelings that we must push as quickly as possible for comprehensive immigration reform, and this is a real difference between her’s and Senator Sanders’ record, she supported comprehensive immigration reform at every possible chance and she was one of the original supporters and sponsors of the DREAM Act…”
“She does not believe that while we are working towards comprehensive immigration reform we should make people wait, like the families you are talking about. Which is why she thinks it’s so important to extend the Affordable Care Act to people who are living and working here, regardless of immigration status, regardless of citizenship status.“
Huge Cost To Taxpayers
With healthcare costs already rising much faster than promised, the addition of millions of free riders into the system will create an enormous strain, to say nothing of the cost. The Heritage Foundation predicts it would cost $6 trillion over 50 years.
Hillary has been advocating this massive welfare expansion at least since last Fall when the Los Angeles Times reported it. What has not been reported is the cost. A study by the Congressional Budget Office predicts that the American taxpayer is on the hook for $5,000 for every person covered under Obamacare. An additional 11 million people would cost taxpayers $55 billion. Every year.
That’s the best case scenario and it doesn’t address how an already strained system would cope with so many new people. And we should hardly be surprised if the average American cries foul at being asked to pay for this while struggling to pay his or her own bills. Let’s not even get into why the government is involved in healthcare in the first place.
With Clinton this is just the tip of the iceberg. It would not be just a huge expansion of Obamacare. It would amnesty as well as attacks on the 2nd Amendment, religious liberty, and national security. Now would be a good time for Republicans to call off the circular firing squad, agree to back the nominee selected by the voters, and focus on defeating Hillary Clinton.
