A group calling themselves Democracy Spring is planning “the largest civil disobedience of the century” as part of their plan to derail Donald Trump’s Presidential campaign. Democracy Spring is another astroturf organization brought to you by the pro-Sanders, George Soros-funded MoveOn.org and a constellation of other Leftist groups. Groups like Democracy Spring change their names, form and reform, but the professional agitators running them and the billionaires funding them remain the same. Think of the Occupy Movement and Black Lives Matter among others. All the same people. Soros spent $33 million to support the Ferguson protests last year. One can only imagine the amount of money available when the American Presidency is on the line.
Create A Crisis Then Form A Mob
The Democracy Spring website demands that supporters “save democracy for millions” and that members of Congress must “take immediate action to end the corruption of big money in politics and ensure our elections are free, fair, and afford every American an equal voice, regardless of wealth.” This is the same old lie the Left has been telling for decades. The goal is not to “save democracy” but to undermine people’s confidence in our institutions so that they can be manipulated. Never let a crisis go to waste as Obama’s mentor Saul Alinsky said in his book Rules for Radicals. In the absence of a real crisis the game-plan goes like this:
Step 1: Create a crisis.
Step 2: Form a mob
Step 3: Make demands & gain power
Democracy Spring is forming their mob now using money from the billionaires they condemn – the 1% as they like to say – to pay for it. They are asking people to pledge to “risk arrest to save democracy between April 11-16.” Apparently democracy is on her own after April 16th. And while they claim to support freedom of speech their actions speak louder than their words. In fact, it was Democracy Spring’s very own campaign director, Kai Newkirk, who was caught interrupting Donald Trump at a GOP debate.
Much of their anger is directed at Donald Trump for the moment. Witness the mayhem caused by anti-Trump protesters in St. Louis, Chicago, Dayton, and across Florida. Their goal was not democracy. Just the opposite. The immediate goal was to deny Trump the microphone and to harass and intimidate his supporters. The larger goal is to cow Trump’s supporters – to bully them to use the current terminology – into changing their votes or not voting at all. And these are the very people who claim democracy is under attack due to voter suppression. The irony is rich.
Cruz Sides With Soros-Funded Protesters
With all of this evidence of Leftist groups coordinating their actions to disrupt Trump rallies and deny him the right to speak you’d think other Republicans would be quick to condemn them. Conservatives respect the Constitution, right? So we’ve been told. But after blaming Donald Trump for the protester violence in Chicago, Ted Cruz doubled down and said on Wednesday’s The Kelly File, that “no one should be surprised that Donald Trump is trying to stir up riots.”
Does Cruz really believe that? Or does he think that blaming Trump for these coordinated attacks by Soros-funded groups will gain him some advantage with voters? Voters no better. And either way, we should expect better from self-proclaimed Constitutional conservatives. Ted Cruz must know that these groups would be targeting him with the same incendiary tactics were he the front-runner. If he doesn’t he lacks the basic wisdom required of any President. And if he does, he should call out these groups whose actions strike at the very heart of the democracy they claim to be defending.
