Apparently drugs aren’t a harmless way to pass the time. Who knew? The New York Post reports that:
A woman who played a blue “drug” fairy in a music video that went viral after she got arrested on drug charges was found dead of an apparent overdose in her home on Tuesday, cops said.
Sharissa Turk, 25, who was part of a massive narcotics bust in 2013, was discovered unconscious and unresponsive in her Staten Island home around 3 p.m., according to police.
Turk’s death was likely due to an overdose. The Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the official cause of death.
Ms. Turk appeared in a music video for the song “My World Is So Blue,” which glorifies oxycontin abuse. Oxycontin is a powerful, frequently abused narcotic sometimes called Hillbilly Heroin. She was pregnant at the time of her death. Her baby also died. That a young woman, likely deluded by the effect of the drug that apparently killed her, would lose her life after gaining notoriety glorifying that same drug is a sad but not unpredictable irony.
